Micah earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in fine woodworking from Tennessee Technological University. Over time, he became interested in meticulous cabinetry work. This exposure led him from the more structural “framing construction” of a house, to the more finished and detailed parts of home building.
With that background, he was motivated to become more educated in the field of fine woodworking and that brought him to the program at TTU. It was through the influence of these studies and various trades in woodworking that Micah was drawn to Homestead Timber Frames. He loves every minute of his time in the shop laying out timbers and hand cutting the joinery – including raising the frames on the client’s site.
When Micah is not working or in school, he loves to fish and spend time with his wife Heather.
