Commander Bourret began his career in the U.S. Navy, where he built a foundation in special operations leadership within the Navy SEAL community. Following 30 years of combined service with the Department of Defense and the Department of Energy, he transitioned into the private sector and acquired Homestead Timber Frames.
Homestead Timber Frames designs and manufactures distinguished timber frame structures that highlight traditional heavy-timber joinery. Notable projects include the Gwynn Castle, the Flying Magazine–featured timber frame aircraft hangar, and a wide portfolio of custom homes.
He also serves as the volunteer Fire Chief for the Placerville Fire Protection District in Idaho, leading a small rural, mountainous fire department. In this role, he has driven modernization initiatives, strengthened multi-agency coordination, and advanced long-range operational planning for the Department.
He brings a mission-focused, results-driven approach shaped by military discipline, operational leadership, and decades of guiding complex projects.
