Steve, or “Papa Steve,” as his four grandkids call him, is the most recent addition to the Homestead Timber Frames team. Hailing from Bend, Oregon, he’s stepping into Southern life in Tennessee. From furniture manufacturing to residential construction, software development to classroom teaching, Steve is a “jack-of-all-trades,” always willing to share his passion for lifelong learning, tight joinery, and an occasional venture into “nerd” speak.
And when he’s not talking shop, Steve willingly shares embellished tales of brown trout rising in the canyons of the Deschutes River, knee-deep powder runs in the Northwest bowls of Mt. Bachelor, or the occasional Ponderosa pine “confronted” on mountain bike rides. And in case you’re wondering, the tree always wins. As general manager, Steve sees his role as building upon the Homestead Timber Frames legacy, and supporting a very special group of artisans pursue their craft of fine woodworking in Timber Framing.
